Russell “Rusty” Johnson

A recognized leader in the Financial Services Industry, Rusty Johnson has nearly 30 years of professional experience in financial services and mortgage servicing, holding executive positions at Bank of America, Radian, Wells Fargo, PwC, KPMG, and Fannie Mae.

While at KPMG, Johnson was responsible for large scale engagements with leading financial institutions including Fannie Mae, VA and Bank of America and was considered KPMG’s subject matter expert for all mortgage servicing engagements. During his tenure at Fannie Mae, Johnson led loss mitigation efforts during the collapse of the housing market including the creation and implementation of government programs such as the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) and the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). His work on a comprehensive servicer rating system, led to the development of the Fannie Mae “Servicer Total Achievement and Rewards” program or STAR.  Russell will support the firm’s client development strategy and advise the partners on market opportunities.
